Solutions to common issues with Prospect Research.
Search Issues
No results found
If your search returns no results:
- Broaden your filters - Remove some criteria
- Check filter values - Ensure no conflicting filters
- Try different keywords - Use alternative industry terms
- Adjust location - Expand geographic scope
Tip
Start with fewer filters and gradually narrow down to find the right balance.
Too many irrelevant results
To improve relevance:
- Add more specific filters
- Use negative filters (exclude criteria)
- Refine industry selection
- Adjust company size range
Search is slow
Large searches may take time. To speed up:
- Add more filters to reduce result set
- Search specific regions instead of global
- Use saved searches for repeated queries
Contact Data Issues
Email not found
When no email is available:
- Try the company search - Find other contacts at same company
- Check LinkedIn - May provide clues for manual lookup
- Request research - Submit a research request for hard-to-find contacts
Invalid email received
If an email bounces:
- Go to Activity > Revealed Contacts
- Find the contact
- Click Report Invalid
- We'll investigate and credit your account if confirmed
Phone number doesn't work
Phone numbers may be outdated. If incorrect:
- Report the issue in the dashboard
- Try alternative numbers listed
- Use email as primary contact method
Data Quality Issues
Company information is outdated
Company data updates monthly. If you find outdated info:
- Click Report Issue on the company profile
- Describe what's incorrect
- We'll prioritize updating the record
Duplicate contacts
To avoid duplicates:
- Use the Dedupe feature before export
- Configure duplicate detection in settings
- Match by email address for best results
Wrong person at company
If a contact is no longer at the company:
- Report via Flag Contact
- We'll verify and update
- Search for current employees
Export & Integration Issues
Export failing
If exports fail:
- Reduce export size - Try smaller batches
- Check permissions - Ensure you have export access
- Try different format - Switch between CSV/Excel
- Clear browser cache - Refresh and retry
CRM sync not working
Check these settings:
- Integration is connected and authorized
- Field mappings are configured
- You have write access in your CRM
- API limits haven't been exceeded
Common sync errors:

Missing fields in export
If exported data is missing fields:
- Check field selection in export settings
- Verify data exists (not all contacts have all fields)
- Ensure your plan includes those data points
Credit Issues
Credits deducted incorrectly
If you believe credits were deducted incorrectly:
- Go to Account > Credit History
- Review recent transactions
- Click Dispute on any incorrect charges
- Our team will investigate
Running out of credits
To manage credit usage:
- Preview data before revealing (free)
- Use bulk reveal for better efficiency
- Export only needed fields
- Verify ICP fit before spending credits
Performance Issues
Dashboard loading slowly
- Clear browser cache and cookies
- Try a different browser
- Disable browser extensions
- Check your internet connection
Data not refreshing
- Click the refresh button
- Log out and log back in
- Clear browser cache
- Check for service status updates
