Solutions to common issues with Prospect Research.

Search Issues

No results found

If your search returns no results:

  1. Broaden your filters - Remove some criteria
  2. Check filter values - Ensure no conflicting filters
  3. Try different keywords - Use alternative industry terms
  4. Adjust location - Expand geographic scope

Tip

Start with fewer filters and gradually narrow down to find the right balance.

Too many irrelevant results

To improve relevance:

  1. Add more specific filters
  2. Use negative filters (exclude criteria)
  3. Refine industry selection
  4. Adjust company size range

Search is slow

Large searches may take time. To speed up:

  1. Add more filters to reduce result set
  2. Search specific regions instead of global
  3. Use saved searches for repeated queries

Contact Data Issues

Email not found

When no email is available:

  1. Try the company search - Find other contacts at same company
  2. Check LinkedIn - May provide clues for manual lookup
  3. Request research - Submit a research request for hard-to-find contacts

Invalid email received

If an email bounces:

  1. Go to Activity > Revealed Contacts
  2. Find the contact
  3. Click Report Invalid
  4. We'll investigate and credit your account if confirmed

Phone number doesn't work

Phone numbers may be outdated. If incorrect:

  1. Report the issue in the dashboard
  2. Try alternative numbers listed
  3. Use email as primary contact method

Data Quality Issues

Company information is outdated

Company data updates monthly. If you find outdated info:

  1. Click Report Issue on the company profile
  2. Describe what's incorrect
  3. We'll prioritize updating the record

Duplicate contacts

To avoid duplicates:

  1. Use the Dedupe feature before export
  2. Configure duplicate detection in settings
  3. Match by email address for best results

Wrong person at company

If a contact is no longer at the company:

  1. Report via Flag Contact
  2. We'll verify and update
  3. Search for current employees

Export & Integration Issues

Export failing

If exports fail:

  1. Reduce export size - Try smaller batches
  2. Check permissions - Ensure you have export access
  3. Try different format - Switch between CSV/Excel
  4. Clear browser cache - Refresh and retry

CRM sync not working

Check these settings:

  1. Integration is connected and authorized
  2. Field mappings are configured
  3. You have write access in your CRM
  4. API limits haven't been exceeded

Common sync errors:

Error Solution
Auth failed Reconnect integration
Field mismatch Update field mappings
Duplicate detected Configure duplicate handling
Rate limited Wait and retry

Missing fields in export

If exported data is missing fields:

  1. Check field selection in export settings
  2. Verify data exists (not all contacts have all fields)
  3. Ensure your plan includes those data points

Credit Issues

Credits deducted incorrectly

If you believe credits were deducted incorrectly:

  1. Go to Account > Credit History
  2. Review recent transactions
  3. Click Dispute on any incorrect charges
  4. Our team will investigate

Running out of credits

To manage credit usage:

  1. Preview data before revealing (free)
  2. Use bulk reveal for better efficiency
  3. Export only needed fields
  4. Verify ICP fit before spending credits

Performance Issues

Dashboard loading slowly

  1. Clear browser cache and cookies
  2. Try a different browser
  3. Disable browser extensions
  4. Check your internet connection

Data not refreshing

  1. Click the refresh button
  2. Log out and log back in
  3. Clear browser cache
  4. Check for service status updates
